"Our first meeting at La Bodega was the first time that anyone had asked me why I hurt and what I might need. I was ashamed and scared at first, but then I realized that the family case manager and the parole officer were there to help me. They wanted what was best for my grandson... and me. When I thought Carlos was back on drugs, I knew who to call. And they were there."

Family Justice's signature method – the Bodega Model – is the process of partnering individuals under justice supervision and their families with government justice supervision and community providers. Family Justice accomplishes this through family-focused practices aimed at identifying and mobilizing family strengths and resources in the context of challenges and barriers to improve community justice supervision outcomes and interrupt cycles of intergenerational and intrafamilial criminal justice involvement. Using this methodology, Family Justice works on a local, state and national level to partner government, communities and justice-involved families.
